I WANT TO SAY THIS WITH ALL THE LOVE AND SINCERITY I CAN. I AM 70 YEARS OLD AND HAVE FOUGHT THE FIGHT FOR THE LORD ALL THESE YEARS AND STILL DO. HOWEVER BEING CALLED AS A EVANGELIST I FEEL THAT MY CALL WAS TO WIN SOULS TO THE GOSPEL TRUTH . NOT TO TRY TO PROVE OR DISPROVE ANY BODIES THEORY ON BIBLE DOCTRINE. EITHER THE BIBLE IS THE WORD OF GOD OR WE ARE ALL FOOLS . I MUST BELIEVE THAT EVERY WORD OF THE BIBLE IS HIS WORD. I THINK TO MANY PEOPLE HAVE SPENT SO MUCH TIME TRYIING TO PROVE WHO IS RIGHT OR WRONG THAT THE SOULS OF PEOPLE ARE ON THE WAY TO HELL.! WHAT YOU DON,T BELIEVE IN HELL,JUST SECONDS AFTER YOU GET THERE YOU WILL. LETS GET BACK TO THE WORK OF JESUS THAT OF DISCIPLING PEOPLE AND TEACHING THEM TO LIVE A CHRISTAIN LIFE TODAY.
A pleasure to meet you. One brief note on internet etiquette, or "netiquette" to be silly ;-P... In general, Capitalization is meant to mark EMPHASIS on something, akin to raising your voice to be heard. Typing in all caps is generally perceived as yelling, and can be offensive to some. I'm sure you probably just had caps lock on and didn't notice, but I thought I'd toss you the heads up ;-).
That being said, the Word of God is our Lord, Christ Jesus. The Holy Scriptures make this very clear in the Gospel of John, first verse, first chapter. The Holy Scriptures being truly inspired by God, are the revelation of the Lord to us over time, that they may bear an eternal witness unto Him; or as it is written "let all things be true, according to the word of two or three witnesses."
John the Beloved again counsels us as to the true Word of God when he reminds us "And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that not even the world itself would have room for the books which would be written. Amen." - John 21:25, English Majority Text
Paul in harmony with John, teaches that we too are living letters: "You are our letter, having been written in our hearts, being known and being read by all men; being made known that you are the letter of Christ, which was ministered by us, having been written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not in tablets of stone but in tablets of flesh, namely in hearts."
And so it is written that we too who preserve the faith we received become living letters, recording the words of Christ our King on our very hearts, in fulfillment of the Prophecy of Ezekiel:
"And I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give to you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall keep My judgments and do them ." - Ezekiel 36:26
And so we come to the importance of knowing "who is right or wrong" as we continue to follow the mandate of Christ in "discipling people and teaching them to live a Christian life today" so we can see saved "the souls of the people on the way to hell."
Surely it is written "How narrow the gate, and confined the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it! But beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves." Matthew 7:14-15
And so, we are continually exhorted to keep the statutes, and observe them as given to us from the Lord. It is written in the Holy Scriptures that we must "Contend for the Faith once for all Delivered" rather than "try to prove or disprove any bodies theory on bible doctrine."
Again, speaking in harmony on this matter Paul rebukes the Corinthians and their innovative tendencies when he writes "Or did the word of God go forth from you? Or did it come to you only? If anyone thinks that he is a prophet, or a spiritual person, let him recognize that the things which I am writing to you are the commandments of the Lord." 1 Corinthians 14:36-37
And so it is written "If you love Me, keep My commandments" that we might come to live not in fear, but in love. So I ask you, will you love the Lord not just in word, but also in deed by observing the things which he taught first to the Apostles, and now to us?
If I have spoken a good word here, I hope my brothers in Christ will add their witness to mine by offering the Amen in response, and if I have spoken in error I hope they'll offer correction.
i am sorry my brother i have poor sight and often can,t see the small print and misspell word as a result of that.Like paul i have several problems with my body and sight.
I agree with you on the scripture, my objection is with people that use it as a whip and try to force people to see it there way without any love in their tone or manner. some spend so much time with doctrine that they don,t take time to win the lost. i believe the scripture say something about the carnal man cannot receive the word for they can,t understand it unless the holyspirit teach them. example a man filled with drugs or drink can,t be taught the meat of the word until he is sobered up feed and shown that he is loved and then lead to christ, then he will better be ready to hear then meat of the word first the milk,. At least this is my experience. I have worked in missions and jails ..On the other hand I have known people who left the church because they felt the whole message was over there head. thanks for your comments and god bless you and your ministry
Thank you for the clarification Earl, as far as I'm concerned, if you have bad eye sight, please feel free to use caps-lock if it makes it easier for you to read.
I'm sorry, I should have considered that you might be vision impaired; I'm used to getting yelled at on the internet ;P
These links will show you how to change the font size on your browser for all pages, maybe making things easier for you to read as well.
As regards meat, and milk; I concur entirely. But at the same time we must never neglect our role as shepherds, we must be able to eat the meat ourselves so we can offer it in it's proper season, and so I felt it fitting to respond regarding our priorities as ministers of the Gospel.
Each of us has our role within the Body of Christ, and it is through working in harmony that we will shatter strongholds and save the lost.
Thank you for your help. I use to get talked to about the caps also. many people send me things in caps. I agree with you amen. some times i tent to forget that the pastor and the evangelist are on the same team. My call is to win souls, although I have oastored some churches in my 40 years of service. i always have thought that every pastor ought to work with an evangelist on the field for aome time and vice a versa. I am thankful for you and this oppurnity for thuis cayses me to refress my reading on doctrine in the church. over the years i have found few churches that are really iin the business of soul winningnor is it taught in some churches.salvation is a doctrine of the church and i feel should be taught and particed. i am sure we agree on all thimngs we just look at it from differant offices amen.
